FAQs

Help! I have a major water leak in the house! What do I do?
Immediately turn off the water supply to the house. If you do not know the location of your water shut off, it could be in a couple of places. Call us and we'll be happy to walk you through turning off the water until a technician can get to your home to remedy the cause of the water leak.

Another plumbing company has told me that my sewer line needs to be replaced. Can you do that?

Do you offer trenchless water and sewer line replacement?

Can my sewer line be replaced if it has multiple bends?
Yes, in most cases bends are not a problem.

Will my tree suffer if the sewer line that contains its roots is replaced?
No, trees with roots that have grown into a sewer line are established enough to sustain themselves and do not show any reaction to the minor disruption.

I have a strange smell coming from my bathtub but I haven't used it in a long time, what is going on?
Sewer gases back up into the home when a drain pipe hasn't been used for a while. You can simply fix this by turning on the water and running it for a few minutes.

My kitchen sink is backed up so I poured a chemical down the drain a couple of hours ago but it hasn’t worked. Can you come clear my drain?
No, not yet. You must neutralize the chemical by putting a spoonful of baking soda or vinegar in the sink and call us in 24 hours. We'll be happy to come and clear your drain when it is safe enough for our technicians. If a technician were to attempt to clear the drain with active chemicals in the sink, the water could splash onto the technician and any person watching which would then burn the skin. ALWAYS inform your plumber of use of chemicals in any drain line.

My home is on a septic system and I have a backup into the house. Do I need my drain lines cleared or my septic tank pumped?
Probably both. If your septic tank hasn't been pumped within the past 2 years and you have normal (not excessive) usage, then we need to come and pump your septic tank. Since waste did back up into your home, then we should go ahead and clear your lines to ensure optimal flow and clear any blockages that may have occurred in the backup.

I think that my toilet flapper may be leaking. How can I know for certain before calling?
Put 10 drops of any color food coloring into the toilet tank. Wait 15-20 minutes to see if dye seeps into the bowl. If it does, then call us for a complete toilet inspection and service.

I have noticed a soggy area in my yard and excessive vegetation growth. Do I have a water leak?
You may or may not. If you are on a septic system, it may be that your drain field has gone bad and you need a new one installed. If you do not have a septic system, then turn off all water in your house and go outside to check your water meter. If it is spinning fast then you can be sure that you have a water leak and we will be happy to check for leaks with our state of the art leak detection equipment.
